St. Johns Police Department Part-time Administrative Assistant:

The St. Johns Police Department is now accepting applications for a Part-time Administrative Assistant position.  High School diploma or equivalent required, prefer some college or work experience.  Candidates for this position should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, type at least 60 wpm, and have the ability to multi-task.  Wages start at $12 per hour depending on experience/qualifications. This position will be approximately 16 hours per week with some flexibility.  Send your resume to or apply in person at the St. Johns Police Department, Attn: Chief of Police, P.O. Box 477, St. Johns, 48879. Applications should be submitted by April 28, 2017 (or until the position is filled). TRASH/RECYCLING INFORMATION

If you recently moved to the area and do not have a large brown recycling cart from Granger, please call City Offices at 989-224-8944 during normal business hours   (M-F 8:00-5:00).

Reminder: For those who choose to recycle, all recyclable items must be placed in the brown/yellow recycling cart that was provided by Granger. All other bins or containers will not be picked up and a flyer will be left behind. 

RECYCLE BATTERIES --- Bee's Sports at 2138 S. Business 127, St. Johns will accept your lead acid and alkaline batteries, at no cost to you.



Batteries/Cell Phones/Ink Jet Cartridges can be recycled in City Offices.

Types of Batteries Accepted: Nickel Cadmium/Lead acid batteries/Mercuic oxide, button cell batteries/Lithium batteries/Alkaline or zinc carbon batteries. No auto or marine batteries will be accepted in city offices. 



St. Johns Lions Club Recycling Center


The Lions Club has operated a recycling program in St Johns since 1978.

The center is located on North Swegles Street between Steel and Lincoln streets in St Johns.

NEW! You may now recycle larger items at the recycling center such as:

Water Heaters

Furnaces

Electronics (No TV's)

2017 Parking Passes

Annual parking permits for 2017 will be available for sale beginning December 16. Permits can be purchased at the Police Department during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8 - 4).

CodeRED® is an emergency notification service that allows emergency officials to notify residents and businesses by telephone, cell phone, text message, email and social media regarding time-sensitive general and emergency notifications. It will only be used in emergencies to notify citizens of things like missing persons, hazardous materials releases, boil water advisories, evacuations, etc.

Mint Festival - (Click here to go to the Mint Festival website)

 

The annual St Johns Mint Festival is held the second weekend of August each year and provides the entire family with an action packed weekend. Held at the City Park and County Fairgrounds, over 75,000 people attend activities of the festival such as arts and crafts, flea market, antiques and collectibles, softball, basketball and tennis tournaments, tractor pulls and children's activities. There is also free daily entertainment, a Mint Queen Pageant and mint information and foods. The festival begins Friday afternoon, and then kicks into high gear with the Grand Mint Parade on Saturday. Over 150 entries are highlighted in the parade. Don't forget to get your bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream at the festival!!
