The City of St. Johns park system consists of over 137 acres of land on six different sites (one main park and five pocket parks).

The parks are overseen by an eight member Parks & Recreation Advisory Board appointed by the City Commission.

The Main City Park has numerous amenities including:

  • 4 Tennis Courts 
  • 1 Softball Fields 
  • Band Shell
  • Sand Volleyball Court
  • Rental and Non-Rental Pavilions
  • Sledding Hill
  • Ice Rink
  • Public Restrooms and more

The main park is open from 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. The pocket parks, which are located throughout the City, include children's play toys and are open from dawn until dusk. No alcoholic beverages are permitted at any of the city parks.

Sledding Hill

Weather permitting there is an unsupervised sledding hill open to the public during daylight hours.

The hill is located at the Main Park, 805 West Park Street. The hill is at the far Northwest corner of the park.

Ice Skating Hours

Monday - Friday 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Ice Hockey Hours

Monday - Friday 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Monday - Friday 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday 8:00 a.m. - Noon

Open skating and hockey are allowed at the City Park ice rink at any time except those times that are posted exclusively for skating or hockey.
